About Mizoram Institute of Medical Education and Research

Mizoram Institute of Medical Education and Research (MIMER) is the first government medical college in Mizoram, established in 2021 under the Government of Mizoram at Falkawn, Aizawl. It is attached to Zoram Medical College and offers MBBS programs recognised by the National Medical Commission (NMC). MIMER was set up to address the longstanding absence of a government medical college in Mizoram — students from the state previously had to travel to Silchar, Guwahati, or other cities for MBBS education. The institute also aims to develop postgraduate clinical programs in subsequent phases.
