The Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC) State Services Examination is the premier recruitment gateway for Group A and Group B gazetted officer posts in the state of Mizoram. Posts filled through this examination include Mizoram Civil Service (MCS), Mizoram Police Service (MiPS), Mizoram Finance & Accounts Service (MFAS), and several allied state services. The exam follows a three-stage process: a Preliminary exam (objective type, General Studies and CSAT), a Mains exam (descriptive papers covering GS, Mizo language, Essay, and optional subjects), and a final Personality Test/Interview. Mizoram's growing infrastructure and governance needs — particularly in areas of forest management, rural development, and inter-border trade with Myanmar — make these posts highly relevant. Candidates from Mizoram's eight districts are particularly encouraged. The MPSC maintains strict Mizo-medium and English-medium track options for the Mains language paper, and knowledge of the Mizo language is advantageous though not mandatory for most posts.
