About this exam
The Multi-Tasking (Non-Technical) Staff (MTS) and Havaldar (CBIC & CBN) Examination is conducted annually by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit Class 10 pass candidates for General Central Service Group C non-gazetted, non-ministerial support roles — including general office assistant duties (MTS) and Havaldar posts in the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) and Central Bureau of Narcotics (CBN). Selection involves a single computer-based examination (Paper 1) conducted in two mandatory sessions, followed by a Physical Efficiency Test (PET) / Physical Standard Test (PST) for Havaldar posts only. MTS posts require no physical test.
